The Story Bar Lab:
Held over eight recurring Mondays (April 2-May 21) from 6:30-8:30pm, this interactive workshop will dive into the universal elements of creativity and storytelling. Focused on the process and the act of doing, opposed to the outcome or product, Story Bar Lab will explore ways to overcome fear, embrace curiosity, and channel our muse in all creative endeavors.
What to Expect:
This course is experiential, hands-on, and tactile. The Lab will utilize exercises to help cultivate imagination, innovation, and creativity. Each class will focus on a different part of the creativity process, using various literary, performance, and storytelling practices as the guides.

Erin Hallagan is the Founder and Artistic Director of Story Bar, a multi-disciplinary arts initiative featuring storytelling and the exploration of the human condition through community-driven programming. Through Story Bar, she has launched four signature programs: Story Mixers, Inward and Artward, Story Baton, and Story Bar Lab, all designed to bring audiences and artists together through creativity, community, and collaboration.
Prior to Story Bar, Erin served as Creative Director of the Austin Film Festival & Writers Conference, in addition to producing the festival’s PBS affiliated television show On Story. She is currently on the board of the Austin Film Festival, Austin Emerging Art Leaders, and co-produced the storytelling track for the inaugural Creatives Meet Business Experience, a conference catered for artist entrepreneurs and creative small-business owners. Before Erin lived in Austin, she taught writing classes at the Graduate School of DC.
Erin believes everyone has a story to tell, and that we are all creative. She is dedicated to making a difference through the transformative power of the arts.
