Maya Smart reviews about 50 books annually. It’s best to send submissions two months prior to the first day of the month of publication, but submissions are accepted after publication.
Please see mayasmart.com/booklove to get a feel for my style and see what I’ve reviewed lately. I review primarily nonfiction—memoir, self-help and personal growth texts by women authors.
I do not review the following categories:
- Science Fiction/Fantasy/Horror
Galleys, finished books and bound manuscripts may be sent to:
1101 W. 34th St., #621
Austin, TX, 78705
All submissions should have the following information:
- Book synopsis
- Author bio
- Publisher and imprint
- Number of pages in the finished book
- 13-digit ISBN
- Month and day of publication
- Publicity contact information
If a review of your book has not appeared within a few months of your submission, it is safe to assume that the book has not been chosen for review. Please bear in mind that I am one person and can review only a small fraction of the books I receive. Sending a book to me by no means guarantees you a review. But I look forward to seeing your submissions. Please direct any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
