2023 Conference
I gave three workshops on how educators can support parents as literacy leaders at the Wisconsin State Reading Association conference in Milwaukee. The audience members were teachers, administrators, literacy coaches, and reading specialists—all seeking fresh ideas for engaging parents in advancing kids’ literacy skills. It’s so important that families and schools see themselves as partners in this work. Kids need the best from all of us. Attendees shared that the WRSA workshops sparked fresh ideas for pursuing family-school partnership with greater empathy and intention.
