Save the date for Leading Lights Roaring Nights on February 21, 2025, at the Greater Milwaukee Auto Show Gala. Benefiting St. Francis Children’s Center, the event will support essential programs serving over 900 children annually.
This year’s honorees include Abby Andrietsch, CEO of St. Augustine Preparatory Academy; Alex Lasry, Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Commerce and former owner of the Milwaukee Bucks; and Maya Smart, author and literacy advocate.
Maya Payne Smart is a parent educator, literacy advocate, and the author of Reading for Our Lives: A Literacy Action Plan from Birth to Six (Avery/Penguin Random House). She holds a master’s degree in journalism from the Medill School at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s in social studies with honors from Harvard University. She serves as affiliated faculty in Educational Policy and Leadership in the College of Education at Marquette University.
