Join us on November 12 for a special conversation with Maya Smart, author of Reading for Our Lives: The Urgency of Early Literacy and the Action Plan to Help Your Child, at Marquette Law School’s Lubar Center. Maya will discuss how parents and caregivers can help young children build strong reading skills from the very start.

In conversation with Alan Borsuk, senior fellow in law and public policy, Maya will share insights from her research on the powerful role families play in children’s literacy development and why these early efforts matter now more than ever.

The program begins at 12:15 p.m. in Eckstein Hall. Admission is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Presented by the Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, in collaboration with the Marquette University College of Education.
